Car Fuel Saving Tips

Petrol is becoming expensive nowadays. Price of the petrol is being raised very often in India which makes travel costlier. It is the right time to think about the fuel efficiency of cars. Here are the tips helpful in saving you fuel.

We can save petrol consumption considerably by changing the driving style. Maintaining correct air pressure in tires is the most important way to save petrol. Deflated tires will adversely affect the car and the hurt fuel economy. So, check the air pressure at least once a month. Always it is advisable to use thin tires for car. Thicker tires increase fuel consumption.

Avoid high speeds for your safety and fuel economy. Drive at a moderate speed of about 90 kilometers per hour. The car should be gradually accelerated to save petrol. Always avoid sharp braking and acceleration to save petrol consumption. If you are using the automatic transmission car, switch on your overdrive.

Sometimes you may have to start the car during the cold season. During such situations, do not press the accelerator pedal repeatedly. This wastes fuel. Start the car engine and allow it to run for 40 seconds. An engine will warm up faster during road travel.

Do not carry unnecessary weight in your car. It will increase fuel consumption. Avoid fitting heavy car accessories. It is advisable to remove car extra fittings and boot luggage when they are not in use. Every 50-kilo gram will increase your petrol consumption by 2%.

Service your car engine at regular intervals. Dirty air filters increase fuel consumption. Clean the air filters frequently. Air filters are inexpensive and easy to change. Likewise, change the oil in your car periodically.

2010 BMW M5 Preview

Though the 2010 BMW’s V10 under the hood is very powerful, the choices of steering feel and transmission are not conforming to M-Car standards.

Lincoln is a brand manufacturer of luxury cars; it is a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. The company was founded by Henry M. Leland in 1917 and it was acquired by Ford in 1922.
